Video - How To Outsource CD Production
With the announcement of the change in terms and conditions on eBay which effectively bans people from selling digital products, many sellers are considering burning their items on to CD and then selling them as physical items to overcome the policy change. This struck me as a great idea but potentially very labour intensive and expensive.
Well, the great news is that I’ve come across a website that can automate the whole process and does it at a very reasonable price. You can even use them as a drop shipping service as well as for producing CDs in bulk. They are professionally produced with printed covers/faces together with shrink wrapped packaging and they offer the choice of either a CD jewel case or a DVD size case. You also get one free sample disc so that you can check colours / quality.
I’ve made a couple of videos about the service which will walk you through how to set the whole thing up.
Please note - It’s the first time I’ve used Camtasia so you’ll have to forgive the ‘erms’ and ‘ahs’ and it’s the first time I had used the CD outsourcing service so I was learning as I went along!
Click below to access the videos:
Part 1 (approximately 8 minutes)
Part 2 (approximately 13 minutes - this one takes a while to load so please be patient!)
I hope you find these videos useful. I certainly enjoyed making them and now I know how easy it is, I’ll be making more videos on other topics.
Let me know what you think about this service and whether it could help you if you are affected by the eBay rule change by leaving some comments below.

Hi Dave, and congratulations on producing your first Camtasia screen capture, didn’t really notice any of the ‘erms’ and ‘ahs’, so you did quite well on your first attempt.
I started selling “HOW TO” Videos just over 20 years ago, in those days it was VHS Tapes, and no FREE internet advertising as you have today, you literally had to pay for everything.
For anyone considering this type of service, which are really great value if your a US resident, anyone the UK must realise that as soon as they arrive here, good old customs and excise are going to want you to pay duty on them, see below.
If you purchase goods through the Internet you should be aware that customs duty and VAT will be payable, as follows:
Customs duty - if the amount of duty is £7 and over.
Import VAT - if the value of the goods is £18 and over
One good thing about this, is you probably will not have to pay any Excise duty, as most DVD’s and CD’s are FREE, apart from one type:
Audio. Video, games (discs)……….3.5%
CD Rom with data or programmes……FREE
Blank CD-R and CD-RW………..FREE
Usually the Post Office will collect charges on delivery. A charge label will be affixed to the package at the Customs Postal Depot. This will show the amount of customs charges to pay as well as any Royal Mail fee applicable. And trust me, Royal Mail always apply a fee !, and customs clearance can take upto 3 weeks.
That said, there are UK based CD/DVD duplicators with similar facilities to those of Kunaki, and at first glance may appear more expensive, but on reflection it can be a better deal to find a local supplier, and that goes for any country I guess.
Thanks for the information Lee. This aspect could easily get overlooked as another cost that must be built in when considering this route.
Hi there Dave, thanks for the videos and well done with them being your first video productions.
Can you or Lee Jones point me in the right direct with regards to UK based cd/dvd duplicating company that works the same as Kunaki.com
Being based in the UK seems pointless to utilise Kunaki for UK sales as the postage/shipping is far too high.
Hey guys,
Stumbled across your post via Google. With regards to a UK company offering a similar service, I run a CD/DVD Duplication and Replication company based in the UK and we are rolling out a similar service over the next couple of weeks.
I’d love to hear your suggestions and requirements and any thoughts you may have. Your feedback can help to tailor the service so that it suits you.
I’ve been an eBay seller for the past 7 years, so understand how important speedy and reliable service is. This is what we do
